Background to Story: This year has been an important one for the Israeli-occupied
West Bank. Although the peace talks have made progress on returning the Sinai
Peninsular to Egypt, on the question of autonomy for West Bank Palestinians, they
appear stalled. Meanwhile on the West Bank the spiral of unrest and violence has
continued as more Israeli settlers move in.
