CAMBODIA: NOW IT’S NIXON’S WAR
By widening the Vietnam War into neighbouring Cambodia, President Nixon has taken the biggest political gamble of his career. The President maintains that the Cambodian operation is necessary because the N. Vietnamese and Viet Cong direct their operations in S. Vietnam from sanctuaries in Cambodia. He’s promised that once these sanctuaries are destroyed, all American and S. Vietnamese troops will be withdrawn, and he hopes that this can be accomplished within eight weeks. There have been large-scale student protests on every major university campus in the country, culminating in the tragic shooting of four students at Kent University, Ohio. On
