STORYLINE:
The dead and injured were brought to a hospital in central Gaza on Thursday after multiple Israeli airstrikes killed at least 12 Palestinians, according to health officials.
Ambulances and other vehicles pulled up outside the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital bringing those in serious need of treatment, which included young children.
Three displaced Palestinian men were killed inside a tent that the Israeli military struck near a UNRWA-school turned shelter around noon.
The strike injured eight other Palestinians including women and two children, who were all taken to the Al-Aqsal along with those killed.
Another Israeli strike later in the day hit a two-storey residential building in Maghazi refugee camp, killing nine people, including three children and a woman, who were also brought to the hospital.
At least five people were injured due to that strike.
Israel’s offensive in Gaza has killed over 42,000 Palestinians, according to local health authorities, who do not distinguish combatants from civilians.
The war has destroyed large areas of Gaza and displaced about 90% of its population of 2.3 million people.
It was launched after Hamas-led militants blew holes in Israel’s security fence and stormed in, killing some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and abducting another 250 on October 7, 2023.
