STORYLINE:
Hong Kong leader John Lee claimed on Wednesday that the territory was on track to see GDP growth this year.

Lee came out to talk to the media after his annual policy address on Wednesday.

Local media asked him questions about his plans to try to tackle Hong Kong’s housing problem.

Lee has announced a proposal to make rules about subdivided apartments. Many poor people in Hong Kong live in tiny spaces with rundown conditions, where property owners have chopped up old apartments to make multiple tiny units. But it’s not yet clear how this policy will work, and Lee said it would take years to work it out.

He talked for more than two hours in his policy address on Wednesday morning.

Lee also hosted a long press conference on Wednesday afternoon.

He has planned to appear on live TV programme to explain his policy to people in Hong Kong in the evening.
