STORYLINE:
At least seven Palestinians from the same family, including children and a woman, were killed in an Israeli strike on central Gaza on Saturday.
The bodies were brought to the al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah which confirmed the number of dead.
Several of those injured in the airstrike on the nearby Nuseirat urban refugee camp were also being treated at the hospital.
While strikes on central Gaza continue, Israel also renewed its offensive in northern part of the territory almost a week ago.
Israel has repeatedly returned to parts of Gaza as Hamas and other militants regroup.
Israel’s offensive in Gaza started after Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack, when militants stormed into Israel, killing about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and abducting around 250 others.
Large areas of the territory have been destroyed and around 90% of its population of 2.3 million people displaced, often multiple times.
More than 42,000 Palestinians have been killed, according to local health authorities, who don’t specify between combatants and civilians.
