STORYLINE:
Ten young women who are activists, artists, advocates and innovators were recognized as “Girls Leading Change” by First Lady Dr. Jill Biden at the White House.

Dr. Biden and the White House Gender Policy Council created the event last year to “recognize the profound impact young women are having on their communities and their efforts to strengthen our country for generations to come,” according to the White House website.

“The earth is brighter because of you,” Dr. Biden told the ten honorees during a reception inside the East Room Thursday night.

“Keep filling it with your ideas and your hard work leading us toward the future you want to see,” Biden added.
