Shockwaves are spreading in a major diplomatic stand-off between Canada and India. The Canadian government says a top Indian diplomat was connected with the killing of a Sikh separatist leader on Canadian soil last year. It expelled him and other Indian officials earlier this week. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau referred to a statement from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), which states that the RCMP have "clear and compelling evidence that agents of the government of India have engaged in and continue to engage in activities that pose a significant threat to public safety." India has rejected the accusations, expelling Canada’s top envoy and five others in return.
