"Pragulic is a social organization that aims to change the public’s view of homeless people. We mainly offer tours of Prague led by people who have experienced living on the streets."

4. SOUNDBITE (Czech) Tereza Jureckova , founder of Pragulic:
"We have a 24-hour homeless experience, where you can actually step into the shoes of the person on the street for a whole day and experience, at least for that small moment, what it’s like to be on the street. And through that – you have one of our guides as a partner – through that experience, you can understand a little bit better how that person on the street feels and what they’re struggling with, what the obstacles are, and how easy it is actually to fall and not want to get up anymore."

5. Various set up shots of Mira, one of the guides, talking
6. SOUNDBITE (Czech) Mira (surname not given), guide, Pragulic:
"Working at Pragulic is about getting that straight in your head and your existence. Let’s face it: you end up on the street for specific reasons, and there’s not much to brag about or boast about. So it’s about how one faces it: if he barks it to everyone around and gets bitter because he thinks he’s something more, or if he accepts it and lives it as it comes. It is simply important to stay yourself."

7. Cutaway of Mira talking
8.  SOUNDBITE (Czech) Mira (surname not given), guide, Pragulic:
"It’s people (visitors on the tours) who don’t know themselves, don’t know me, don’t know what to expect. And at the end of the tour, when they’re laughing, shaking hands, and they’re happy to see you or hear you or see how it is, then they can look at it (homelessness) differently."

Tourists are usually taken to the most picturesque sites in a city but a tour company in Czech Republic is showing a different side to town.

The Pragulic company uses homeless guides to show what life on the streets of Prague is really like and to tell their personal stories.

STORYLINE:

Homeless people are living underneath this railway bridge in Prague.

It’s a side of the city few will experience.

But a tour company in Prague is offering a unique perspective by employing homeless people as guides.

Founded in 2012, Pragulic wants to break social barriers and challenge stereotypes by offering tours led by people who are living on the streets.

Tereza Jureckova , founder of Pragulic, says: "Pragulic is a social organization that aims to change the public’s view of homeless people. We mainly offer tours of Prague led by people who have experienced living on the streets."

Their latest activity is a 24-hour-experience on the streets.

Today another guide, Roman, is leading a tour.
