“We secured 10,000 liters (of fuel for electricity generators) but after two or three days, I don’t know how I am going to secure them. This is a call for the state so that they try to secure fuel so we can continue. You know that there are four hospitals, those hospitals for the area had to close, so we have now become the frontline.”

“When the Israeli are striking ambulances, the Red Cross had to wait two hours yesterday till they could transfer the wounded and if they had arrived two hours earlier, then they would have been martyrs honestly. You can’t feel safe. In this attack by Israel, they are not differentiating between a civilian and the military. I cannot guarantee, if they close five (hospitals) in the south, how can we know that they won’t shut this one down.”

8. SOUNDBITE (English) Mads Gilbert, Norwegian Emergency Medicine Doctor visiting:
"We see the same pattern now in Lebanon. All the hospitals south of the Litani river are closed down. All the five hospitals. There is no hospital from the border to Israel and until you come to Nabatieh now because of attacks from the Israeli army. We’ve had at least eight paramedics, ambulance paramedics killed since I came here last week in the Southern parts of Lebanon. And we see now that the attacks on the hospital system also take place in Beirut, so it is the same pattern in Gaza and in Lebanon."

STORYLINE:
Five hospitals in southern Lebanon have already been forced to shut down due to widening Israeli ground and air strikes in Lebanon, leaving one small hospital on the frontline.
Staff and medical teams in one of the last remaining hospitals in Lebanon’s south fear they could face the same fate.
Director of the Popular Help Hospital Mona Abu Zeid said she fears the Israeli military is no longer differentiating between civilian and military targets.
"I cannot guarantee, if they closed five (hospitals) in the south, how can we know that they won’t shut this one down”, Zeid said.
She added that the hospital grappled with diminishing resources, hoarding fuel as roads are becoming hard to access.
Norwegian doctor Mads Gilbert, who arrived in Lebanon a week before, said he saw "the same pattern as Gaza" in Lebanon.
"We’ve had at least eight paramedics, ambulance paramedics killed since I came here last week in the southern parts of Lebanon. And we see now that the attacks on the hospital system also take place in Beirut, so it is the same pattern in Gaza and in Lebanon.", Gilbert said.
