STORYLINE:
Protesters gathered in the Tunisian capital on Monday to mark one year since the latest war between Israel and Hamas began in Gaza.

The demonstrators started their protest at Tunis’ Bab El Khadra before marching towards Habib Bourguiba Avenue.

Protester Nour Hamdi said he attended the event because he believed "it is important for every human being and every Arab citizen to protest."

During the demonstration, the protesters also chanted for newly re-elected President Kais Saied to pass an anti-normalization law.

They were referencing a bill that was considered in Tunisian parliament last year that would have outlawed groups or individuals that forged ties with Israel, political or cultural.

However, it was not passed after Saied expressed opposition against it.
