9. SOUNDBITE (English) Paul Green, President and Founder of Halcyon:
"I think when you look at Hockney’s, what he started off doing, which was going to college and actually printmaking, printmaking has been massively important to him over the decades. And he’s never stopped. The art of making has been a critical issue. So we’ve collected for many, many, many years everything that we could from the ’60s right up to date. And it’s probably the most extensive exhibition of graphical works ever seen in the world and certainly in the UK."

10. Various of ‘An Image of Gregory’, 1984-85
11. Various of exhibition curator Kate Brown looking at ‘An Image of Celia’
12. SOUNDBITE (English) Kate Brown, exhibition curator:
"The highlight of the exhibition really follows the Moving Focus series created from 1984 through to 1987. The series is Hockney’s exploration of perspective and colour, highly influenced by Picasso and a number of ideals of composition and layering. The series comprises of 29 works and really is at the core of his exploration and experimentation with printmaking. So here we have the Celia, which really sits as a sort of centrepiece for the exhibition. Celia was one of his most iconic muses."

19. SOUNDBITE (English) Kate Brown, exhibition curator:
"Well, when David Hockney first went to California, the swimming pools, he talks about seeing them from the aeroplane, looking down at this city that was permeated by these swimming pools. It had such life, such light, such affluence and such a different sort of atmosphere to his life here in the UK. So I think at the beginning the swimming pool was a vehicle, a vehicle for him to look at experimenting on the reflections of light and colour. And they become such an iconic theme through all of his works."

20. Various of artworks based on a hotel in Mexico Hockney visited
21. Close pan of Hockney’s signature
22. SOUNDBITE (English) Paul Green, President and Founder of Halcyon:
"Who wouldn’t want to buy David Hockney’s work? Why wouldn’t you want to own something by perhaps one of the most famous living artists in the world today? Also, the joy that he brings as well. I mean, as Hockney said, our eyes never stop moving. If we stop moving, we’re dead. And I just think he sees with a different way and the joy within his work, whether it’s the landscape with a living figure."
