STORYLINE:
Hundreds demonstrated on the streets of Istanbul on Sunday on the eve of the anniversary of the start of war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas.
Waving Turkish and Palestinian flags while chanting slogans in support of Palestinians, protesters condemned Israel and showed their support for Hamas.
Among the participants was Bilal Erdogan, the son of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was seen joining the chants and waving flags with his family.
One protester, Ismail Celik, emphasized that despite the passage of a year, the suffering caused by what he called "oppression" continued.
