A one-legged sailor known as "Lieutenant Dan" survived Hurricane Milton on his 20-feet sailboat. Lieutenant Dan became a viral sensation when he refused to leave his boat in Tampa Bay and take shelter. Lieutenant Dan’s real name is Joseph Malinowski. As locals gathered by his boat to check in on him, he says his newfound fame will offer him a fresh start. Inside Edition caught up with Lieutenant Dan as he was checking his vessel for damage.
