Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has urged the people of Lebanon to “free” their country from Hezbollah, warning they could otherwise face destruction and suffering on the scale inflicted on Gaza. Netanyahu also said Israel has killed a Hezbollah official seen as its future leader. And its armed forces have opened a new front in the conflict, sending troops into south western Lebanon for the first time.
