Poverty and conflict: Could young Mozambican voters spell a change? | DW News

Voters will head to the polls on October 9 in Mozambique in presidential and parliamentary elections that could prove significant for the country’s trajectory.
The ruling Frelimo party dominated Mozambican politics for 50 years and many young voters are expected to look to opposition parties for new solutions.
The country has high poverty levels and fighting continues in the north, where insurgents have been fighting the government for seven years.
