STORYLINE:
Multiple airstrikes hit the southern suburbs of Beirut overnight, setting fire to some buildings with loud explosions heard from different areas of the Lebanese capital.
The Israeli army said on Thursday it was conducting "a precise strike in Beirut".
Hezbollah and Israel have been exchanging fire since the Hamas-Israel war erupted on October 2023, following the Hamas’ attack in southern Israel.
Over 1,000 people were killed by Israeli bombardments in Lebanon in the past two weeks, nearly a quarter of them women and children, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.
