If that view, to those women (at the University of Louvain) seems conservative, I am Carlo Gardell (a musician) because one cannot understand. I see that there is an obtuse mind that does not want to tolerate discussion of this.”

“I listened to those who were abused, I believe it is a duty. Some say that the statistics show that 40-46% of those abused are abused in the family, in the neighbourhood, but only 3% in the Church. I do not care about that. I care about those in the Church. We have a responsibility to help those who have been abused and to take care of them.”

STORYLINE:
Pope Francis described doctors who carry out abortions as "hit men", during a news conference on a flight to Rome, after wrapping a four day trip to Luxembourg and Brussels.
Responding to a question about the right of women to abortion, Francis said that “women have the right to defend the life of their children”, and denounced doctors who perform out the procedure.
"They are hit men," he said. "And on this you cannot argue. You are killing a human life."
In response to a question about criticism in Belgium of his views on women in the church, the Pope said his critics had “obtuse" minds.
On the scourge of sex abuse in the Catholic church the Pope said “we have a responsibility to help those who have been abused and to take care of them."
