STORYLINE:
Gunfire and shouting was heard in Lebanon’s capital Beirut on Saturday shortly after Hezbollah confirmed that its leader of more than three decades, Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in an Israeli airstrike.
The group vowed to continue its fight against Israel, even as Israel’s attacks on Hezbollah targets pounded areas around Lebanese capital.
Attacks on Hezbollah targets by Israeli fighter jets continued into the early hours Saturday after the army said it told residents to evacuate three buildings it was targeting.
