STORYLINE:
Parts of what appeared to be an intercepted rocket fired from Lebanon fell early Saturday in the Palestinian village of Hawara in the northern occupied West Bank.
Mohammed Said, a resident of Hawara said that his mother saw the rocket remains falling from the sky.
“We were afraid, and the children were screaming, this is not a normal thing. We said, May God help the people of Gaza during these events,” Said told the Associated Press.
On Saturday morning, the Israeli military carried out several strikes in southern Beirut and eastern Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley.
Hezbollah launched dozens of projectiles across northern and central Israel and deep into the Israel-occupied West Bank.
The Israeli military said Saturday that they had killed Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Hezbollah militant group, in a strike in Beirut on Friday.
There was no immediate confirmation from Hezbollah.
If the claim is true, Nasrallah is by far the most powerful target to be killed by Israel in weeks of intensified fighting with Hezbollah.
