6. SOUNDBITE (English) Michael Sisak, The Associated Press:
"It’s these reasons, among others, that his lawyers are fighting to get him out of there. They want him released on bail rather than being kept in jail while he awaits trial on sex trafficking charges. Combs is just the latest high profile defendant to be locked up at MDC Brooklyn."

STORYLINE:
A second judge has refused to grant bail to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. U.S. District Judge Andrew L. Carter said Wednesday that the government had proved “by clear and convincing evidence that there is no condition or set of conditions” that will ensure the safety of community and that he won’t tamper with witnesses.
The hip-hop mogul pleaded not guilty following his Monday arrest on sex trafficking charges, and his lawyer says he’s innocent. Prosecutors say he used his power and prestige for years to sexually abuse women.
His lawyers highlighted a litany of horrors at the Brooklyn federal lockup where he was headed: horrific conditions, rampant violence and multiple deaths.
Combs, 54, was sent to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn on Tuesday after pleading not guilty in a case that accuses him of physically and sexually abusing women for more than a decade.
The facility, the only federal jail in New York City, has been plagued by problems since it opened in the 1990s.
In recent years, its conditions are so stark, some judges have refused to send people there.
It has also been home to a number of high-profile inmates, including R. Kelly, Ghislaine Maxwell and Michael Cohen.
