"I used to see this kind of place outside of Egypt and I had never seen anything like it in Egypt. When I found this place, I was excited because I love this kind of thing. I used to watch videos on TikTok from outside of Egypt and I had wished that we had something similar."

"The experience was wonderful. This is probably the first place of its kind in Egypt. It’s the first time I’ve come across something like this. Today I worked on this canvas in a technique called spinning. They have three options, spinning, splashing and fluid (painting). I tried the spin (technique) and it turned out really nice. The staff members were very friendly. They taught me how to do it."

10. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Yousef Fathi, Artistique studio director:
"We are the first people in Egypt to do something like this and it has only been nine months since we started. People are surprised when they come. We explain to them how it works, and they still don’t believe that they can just paint randomly and get paintings like the ones they end up with. No one believes it. People think that they need to be graduates of an art school to come and paint this way. On the contrary, we paint in a very random way and the result is beautiful in the end."

13. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Yassin al-Shimei, visitor:
"It was a very nice idea and I liked it. There are three styles of painting: the fluid, the splash and the spinning. You choose the colors you feel comfortable with, whether dark or light colors. I chose four colors that I liked and I mixed between the fluid and the splash (techniques). Thank God, the painting turned out well."

STORYLINE:
Anyone can be an artist for a day at a studio in Egypt that allows visitors to express themselves through paint and color.
All visitors have to do is pick the colors they want to play with and get creative.
Prior painting experience is not required at the art space, located on the outskirts of Cairo.
The studio offers visitors three painting techniques including splashing paint directly onto the canvas or pouring paint onto a canvas as they spin it.
Visitor Radwa Mohamed said she was very excited to learn about this art space, adding that she had a wonderful time.
She chose the spin art technique, following the guidance of staff at the studio while pouring vibrant red and blue paint on her canvas.
"I used to see this kind of place outside of Egypt and I had never seen anything like it in Egypt," she said.
The venue opened its doors to visitors nine months ago and has since been giving visitors the chance to explore their creative side.
People are often pleasantly surprised when they come to the art venue, said Yousef Fathi, the director of Artistique studio.
