But getting to the nitty gritty of who he is and beyond the surface, it wasn’t so easy. So for me, it was just about watching his mannerisms, how he moves, how he connected with his mother. I spent about two and a half months living with him in Arizona, so doing that helped me just watch without having to say much and observe without having to say much. And, you know, it translated."

You know, he never tried to overstep. He he’s just there to support me. And he was a phenomenal producer. And I think he and Matt both set me up for success in a way that I could never thank him enough."

And, you know, and then when it was time for me to direct, I call them ask questions. And, you know, they were all so happy for me and so
supportive. At one point, Kathryn Bigelow offered to be my, production assistant, but, obviously as a joke, but she. No, they were they were fantastic. And, I could draw on them as a resource."

This guy’s got one leg and he’s a beast.’ So, you know, there was just a lot of intrigue around that. But then when I got to meet him and got to spend time with him, Judy and his family. And Coach Charles, who I play in the film. You know, you just really see, you know, the real inspiration behind the story. And, you know, we’re just excited about it."
