"Here we are now in the Dagestan hall, and the Dagestan tradition is very old, it is very artistic, but the Soviet carpet transformed it completely. That is, from the Dagestan carpet came the carpet of Soviet Dagestan. And that is different. Here are the carpets behind me, one and the second. It seems to be the whole geometry of the carpet there. There seems to be some incomprehensible symbols. But as soon as you come up and start to look at what these symbols are, it suddenly becomes clear that this is not a traditional symbol, this is a new Soviet symbol."
