STORYLINE:
France’s interior minister said there were no changes to security arrangements for the Paralympics after a stabbing attack in Germany last week left three people dead.
Gerald Darmanin spoke after meeting his German counterpart Nancy Faeser in Paris on Wednesday.
"But of course we are extremely vigilant,’" he added.
"There is still no characterized threat against the Paralympics Games but obviously we must remain extremely modest and extremely concentrated. Europe in general and France, in particular, are particularly under the Islamist terrorism threat,” he told reporters.
Darmanin also expressed his condolences to Germany for the attack in Solingen.
The Islamic State militant group claimed responsibility for Saturday’s knife attack in Solingen, at a crowded festival marking this city’s 650th anniversary.
Eight others were wounded.
