"I would like to take this opportunity once again to ask many of our friends in Europe to take another look at their inventories to see if there is any way they can do something to support Ukraine’s air defence. This applies equally to all the issues that concern us together, such as how we can otherwise organise air defence. But that is a very specific requirement."

"We must also remain vigilant regarding covert Russian activities across the alliance. Last week, Germany arrested individuals accused of espionage and sabotage. And today, in the United Kingdom, five individuals have been charged in connection with hostile state activity to benefit Russia."

"NATO allies stand in full solidarity with Germany and the United Kingdom. Such acts are dangerous and unacceptable. They will not deter us from providing support to Ukraine, and we are coordinating closely in our response to any hostile act against NATO allies."

STORYLINE:
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said on Friday that members must "remain vigilant regarding covert Russian activities across the alliance."
Stoltenberg was speaking alongside German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin where both held talks.
Stoltenberg pointed to recent cases in Britain and Germany linked to suspicion of espionage.
A British man accused of plotting to torch a London business connected to Ukraine has been charged with conducting hostile activity to benefit Russia, prosecutors said Friday.
Four other men face charges connected to the case.
Also on Friday a former researcher working in the U.K. Parliament and another man charged with spying for China were granted bail after an initial court appearance in London.
Last week one of two men arrested in Germany stood accused of agreeing to carry out attacks on potential targets including U.S. military facilities in hopes of sabotaging aid for Ukraine.
"NATO allies stand in full solidarity with Germany and the United Kingdom," Stoltenberg said.
"Such acts are dangerous and unacceptable. They will not deter us from providing support to Ukraine, and we are coordinating closely in our response to any hostile act against NATO allies," he added.
Scholz meanwhile urged allies to dig into their inventories to find more support for Ukraine’s air defences.
