"Most of the things I’ve played, I’ve connected to on some level, like I brought some personal part of myself into, and I couldn’t do that with this one. I had to really just make something up and and really, really go there into the abyss."

3. SOUNDBITE (English) Channing Tatum, actor:
(Reporter: "You’re a producer as well on this movie. What was it like to work with Zoe in that capacity?")
"Oh, that part was lovely. I mean, we actually — our comfort zone in our relationship is creating and being creative and talking about movies. That’s all we really do is watch movies. So that part was like just super, super simple and super easy. You know, relationships are hard. Making movies, apparently for us, is not as hard as that."
STORYLINE:
Channing Tatum says "relationships are hard" but making "Blink Twice" with his fiancée Zoë Kravitz was not so tough.
Tatum walked the red carpet alongside Kravitz on Monday for the London premiere of her directorial debut. He said the two have bonded over movies and creativity.
"That part was lovely. I mean, we actually — our comfort zone in our relationship is creating and being creative and talking about movies. That’s all we really do is watch movies. So that part was like just super, super simple and super easy. You know, relationships are hard. Making movies, apparently for us, is not as hard as that," Tatum said.
Co-writen by Kravitz, the film is a thriller that features Tatum playing a tech billionaire villain. It also stars Naomie Ackie, Adria Arjona and Levon Hawke.
"It’s definitely something I’ve never done or really even dared to even think about doing," Tatum said. "Most of the things I’ve played, I’ve connected to on some level, like I brought some personal part of myself into, and I couldn’t do that with this one. I had to really just make something up and and really, really go there into the abyss."
"Blink Twice" hits theaters Aug. 23.
