"Look, to write this story we simply looked at what are the dynamics that repeat themselves today? They are the constants in a toxic relationship today. There is the isolation of the victim, denigrating her, certainly isolating her from friends, from loved ones. So, after isolation there is a denigrating attitude always. Then there is the lack of economic independence for the woman. So many women are not independent and often women do not report it because they are not economically independent, they would not know what to do. It’s very easy to point the finger at women who don’t report and that can’t do it."
