STORYLINE:
The Druze community of Majdal Shams, a town in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights, were reeling Monday after a rocket attack from Lebanon over the weekend that killed 12 of the town’s children and teenagers.
Posters of those killed were attached to a fence in remembrance next to black ribbons next to the soccer pitch where the deadly blast occurred.
Mourners were also preparing for funeral for 11-year-old Guevara Ibrahim who authorities declared dead after a 24-hour search.
Saturday’s strike raised fears of a broader regional war between Israel and the Iranian-backed Hezbollah, which has denied a role in the attack.
Iran warned Israel that a strong reaction will lead to "unprecedented consequences."
The White House National Security Council says it is working on a diplomatic solution to "end all attacks once and for all" in the border area between Israel and Lebanon.
