STORYLINE:
Hundreds of mourners attended on Wednesday the funeral of a 20-year-old Palestinian man who was shot dead in Israeli fire in the central West Bank, as violence flares in the Israeli occupied territory.
Six other people were injured after being shot by Israeli forces during the same incident in Qalandiya, the Palestinian Health Ministry said, without elaborating.
The Israeli army had not immediately responded to The AP’s request for comment.
Israeli raids, shooting and settler attacks have spiked across the West Banks since the war between Israel and Hamas broke out last October.
At least 577 Palestinians in the territory have been killed by Israeli fire since then, according to the Ramallah-based Health Ministry, which tracks Palestinian deaths.
