US President Joe Biden has said it’s "in the best interest of my party and the country" for him to withdraw from the upcoming presidential race.
Biden has endorsed his Vice-President Kamala Harris to succeed him as the Democratic candidate.
The announcement caps a tumultuous period in US politics, which began with his sometimes incoherent debate performance against Donald Trump on 27 June. Mr Biden says he will remain president until January.
The Americast and Newscast teams have come together to talk about what’s happened and what it could all mean for the US election.
