Hundreds of thousands of people have lost their jobs and face poverty in the occupied West Bank. Israel revoked Palestinian work permits in the wake of last year’s October 7 terror attacks by Hamas – even though that militant group is based in Gaza, not the West Bank. The loss of jobs in Israel has cascaded through the economy with dramatic effect. DW’s Senior International correspondent Fanny Facsar reports from Ramallah and nearby Saffa in the occupied West Bank.
