Taiwanese singer and activist Panai reminded the audience at a prestigious awards ceremony not to forget China’s bloody 1989 crackdown on pro-democracy protesters at Tiananmen Square on Saturday. The Taiwanese indigenous singer told the audience that the crackdown shared its anniversary with the Golden Melody Awards, known as the Grammys of the Mandarin pop world.
