Personal statements and lay-statements (buddy letters) can support a veteran’s VA disability claim but it is certainly not to be used in lieu of medical evidence. Medical evidence for any veteran’s VA disability claim is KING whereas statements are best used to support the medical evidence the veteran already has through VA healthcare or private healthcare.
