”Rescue services and emergency services at Ada lake have been present since yesterday. We have heard that extremely hight temperatures are expected for the weekend, 39 to 40 degrees, and also UV radiation index has increased. So the standard recommendation for small children and elderly but for all the others also, is that from 10am until 16pm to avoid being in an open area without sun protection cream, parasols, mandatory bottles of water.”

STORYLINE:
Temperatures in Belgrade are expected to reach up to 40 degrees Celsius this weekend, amid a heatwave that is set to last at least a couple of days.
Many rushed to Ada Ciganlija lake in Belgrade to cool themselves.
Authorities are advising people to avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
The World Meteorological Organization estimated that there’s almost a one-in-two chance that average global temperatures from 2024 to 2028 will surpass the hoped-for warming limit of 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 Fahrenheit) since pre-industrial times that was agreed in the Paris talks.
