The peace initiative that President Putin put forward at the end of last week also remains on the agenda.”

STORYLINE:
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that the outcome of the Ukraine peace conference in Switzerland was "close to zero," and that many countries realised "the futility of any serious, substantive discussions without the participation" of Russia".
Peskov also once again floated Russian President Vladimir Putin’s "peace initiative" and said it "remains on the agenda".
Putin on Friday said he would order an immediate cease-fire in Ukraine if Kyiv’s forces pull out of the four Ukrainian regions Russia illegally annexed in 2022 and Kyiv drops its NATO bid.
Putin’s other conditions for ending the war included Ukraine recognizing Crimea, a peninsula in the Black Sea Moscow illegally annexed from Ukraine in 2014, as part of Russia; restrictions on Ukrainian military; keeping Ukraine’s non-nuclear status.
Kyiv rejected the proposal as an "ultimatum," "manipulative" and "absurd."
