The European Union has unveiled a new round of tariffs against Chinese-made electric vehicles. It’s accusing Beijing of subsidizing domestic production and dumping cars on foreign markets to undercut local producers. But some European carmakers aren’t thrilled – and Chinese manufacturers have asked for the government to retaliate with import levies on European cars. DW asks Gregor Sebastian, senior Analyst at Rhodium Group, whether Brussels’ tariffs will help or hurt European producers.
