We won’t give you fake numbers or spin in the data. We will strive every single day to take the action that’s needed."

9. SOUNDBITE (English) Sian Berry, Green Party’s candidate for Brighton:
"I think they are very wrong, the other parties to ignore climate change and the big investment that’s needed, the Green New Deal that has been so popular when other countries have done it. It is a big mistake of theirs. After the election, there will be a group of Green MPs in Parliament with a Green New Deal bill ready to go. That is about changing the way that the Treasury looks at investment like that. That counts it differently because it pays back in terms of jobs in achieving our legal requirements on climate. But it’s also something that young people are crying out for. There’s a group of young people, working to help me get elected, working to get other champions for this elected around the country. And young people in general really, really want to see this. They want jobs that have a future."

"I think people are fed up with the narrowness of it (political thinking). And there’s absolutely an opportunity for media to engage with Greens presenting a different side. It’s refreshing, right?"

"The big argument people give for not voting for the Green Party is, well they’re not going to win the election, which I do understand. But at the same time, at least here in Brighton, because we have a Green Party seat, I think holding that seat is really important because what I think the Green Party will do is they will pressure Labour to tackle some of these issues. And I think pressure Labour into going back to being more left wing."

"It is literally a drop in the ocean. And, you know, we need gigawatts and gigawatts of power and we need to generate it in a renewable manner and we need to do it now. And it’s it’s unbelievable that we’re here having this conversation almost when people have been warning about this for so long and it’s been kicked down the road and kicked down the road and here we are in a sort of increasingly desperate situation that governments need to recognize."
