"There is always a lot of work, the occupier creeps up, he must be destroyed, but sometimes the ammunition runs out. I wish there were more cartridges. So that you don’t have to think about where to get them. So that you know that the target has arrived, load the gun and work. And that’s all. We are waiting for help from our dear friends, who I hope will give us modern weapons, modern ammunition and we will destroy the enemy twice as fast."

STORYLINE:
A unit of the Khartia brigade fires artillery at Russian positions in the northeast Kharkiv region to quell Moscow’s offensive.
The unit operates a Soviet-era D-20 cannon to strike Russian manpower and heavy weaponry.
The commander of the D-20 cannon for the Khartia brigade – "Master" – who gave only his nom de guerre due to security reasons, says that modern weapons and ammunition could help them to destroy more targets in a shorter time.
"There is always a lot of work, the occupier creeps up, he must be destroyed, but sometimes the ammunition runs out," he says.
The Khartia brigade came to the Kharkiv direction after Russia started its offensive on May 10th. Soldiers said that they do not have time to be tired and are trying to maintain morale.
"Victory, destruction of the occupier, liberation of one’s territory and returning home alive and healthy to one’s family, children, beloved woman – this is the most important motivation," adds Master.
Ukrainian commanders says Russia’s offensive launched on May 10 has been stabilised after the U.S. allowed Ukrainian forces to strike deep inside Russian territory with HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System).
