STORYLINE:
More relief supplies were dropped into the Gaza Strip on Thursday, hours after an Israeli strike killed over 30 people when it hit a school-turned-shelter run by the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees.
United Nations agencies have warned that over 1 million Palestinians in the territory could experience the highest level of starvation by the middle of next month if hostilities continue.
The World Food Program and the Food and Agriculture Organization said in a joint report that hunger was worsening because of heavy restrictions on humanitarian access and the collapse of the local food system.
On Tuesday, a separate group of experts said it was possible that famine was underway in northern Gaza but that the war and restrictions on humanitarian access had impeded the data collection to prove it.
