A 12-year-old Florida boy won the 96th Scripps National Spelling Bee after a spell-off. For just the second time in the Scripps National Spelling Bee history, there had to be a lightning round spell off. The remaining two contestants had to nail as many words as possible in 90 seconds. Bruhat Soma nailed 29 words in 90 seconds, making him this year’s winner. Inside Edition’s Jim Moret spoke with this year’s spelling bee champion.
