If she could talk, Valerie the dachshund would have quite the tale to tell. Valerie went missing on a camping trip to Kangaroo Island in South Australia. That was in November of 2023. Somehow, the intrepid canine kept herself alive in the harsh terrain. Volunteers with the non-profit Kangala Wildlife Rescue helped look for her. They set up remote traps, and one of them snagged little Valerie. She’ll be reunited with her human family this week.
