"Today, Iraq is successfully taking steps and it is advancing toward security and economic stability. This is seen in the participation of foreign companies and their willingness to have an active presence in this exhibition. Today, the presence of these companies and the signing of contracts and agreements indicate that Iraq has started to recover, it has started to get stable. And God willing, it will become an important focal point in the Middle East area.”

“What we’ve done here for Iraq is that we’ve taken same approach that we are having for 30 years with our own government, and we are helping bilateral move to provide that technology. Today, Iraqi MOD (Ministry of Defense), MOI (Ministry of Interior) and different branches that need this type of technology for situational awareness and security.”

STORYLINE:
Iraqi and foreign firms have brought their products to a defense and security exhibition held in Baghdad earlier this week.
Iraqi Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani opened the exhibition which ended on Tuesday.
Military equipment including vehicles, drones, security cameras and machine guns were on display at the fair.
Chairman of Iraq’s Military Industrialization Authority Mustafa Ati Hassan said more than 120 companies from Iraq and abroad have taken part in the exhibition.
The foreign companies — including those from China, the United States, Turkey and Iran — brought their military equipment to the show.
