STORYLINE:
Award nominees and guests walked the red carpet on Thursday evening as the 47th Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF) kicked off in the Russian capital.
Its screening programme features 200 movies from 50 countries, including China, Iran, South Korea, Argentina, India, Egypt and others.
This year the jury is chaired by Spanish film producer and writer Luís Miñarro.
The Moscow International Film Festival is the second oldest film festival in the world after the Venice Film Festival. It was first held in 1935.
The festival runs until the 24th April.
