"The car industry is changing really, really quickly. Battery electric vehicles are the big new thing. In fact, one in four car sales now in the UK are battery electric, and the used EV market is growing really, very quickly as well. The big theme is you’re seeing lots more manufacturers come out of China and Korea, and actually starting to dominate this space, and starting to ask questions of the older brands that we’re much more familiar with. So there’s a big competition going on to sell battery electric vehicles, which leads to more choice and lower cost electric vehicles for consumers. EVs are actually now on average quite a lot cheaper than petrol cars."

"The vehicle has a world first, it has the fastest production motor of an electric car of 23,000 rpm, which has been specially made for this vehicle. Also features something we call salter body technology, which is unique to BYD, where the battery pack is actually used as part of the underfloor of the vehicle to increase the rigidity, the safety and improve the torsional stiffness of the car."

"Changan has a range of brands in China and we’re bringing two of those, our biggest brands to the UK. Both the Changan brand and the Deepal brand will be coming with a range of vehicles. Deepal is our upper mainstream product, so beautifully designed, very high quality, very high technology vehicles and tending on the larger vehicles, but still at really affordable price points. So this SO7 will be under £40,000 fully equipped. That’s one price for absolutely everything. It’s not one price and then you need to add on a load of features."
