STORYLINE:
Temporary hospitals have been erected to treat victims as medical facilities are damaged and overwhelmed following the devastating earthquake in Myanmar.
Dozens of Bhutanese health workers joined with military medics to treat some 100 injured patients at a temporary hospital in a sports field in the capital Naypyitaw.
In Mandalay, patients were carried on stretchers to tents operated as a make-shift medical center by Russian medical volunteers.
The 7.7 magnitude quake on March 28 had an epicenter near Mandalay, Myanmarβs second-largest city.
The quake killed over 3,000 people, brought down thousands of buildings, buckled roads and destroyed bridges.
Local media reports of casualties have been much higher than the official figures. The numbers could rise sharply as more details come in.
