STORYLINE:
An Argentine court held another day of the trial of seven healthcare professionals accused of negligence in the death of soccer great Diego Maradona at age 60.
Outside the court and before the cameras, lawyers exchanged accusations regarding whether Maradona could have been saved if heart care had been provided.
Mario Baudry, lawyer of Maradona’s son Diego Fernando, said that "during the four years that Luque (Maradona’s doctor Leopoldo Luque) was in charge of his treatment, he never treated his heart."
Meanwhile Vadim Mischanchuk, lawyer of psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov, said "the purpose of this (home) hospitalization was not to provide cardiology care because at the time of the events, he didn’t need it."
Maradona was under the care of those professionals when he had a cardiac arrest in a house outside Buenos Aires on November 25, 2020.
