STORYLINE:
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized the complexity of the Ukrainian settlement in Moscow on Tuesday when he was asked about US President Donald Trump’s threat to introduce secondary tariffs on Russia’s oil imports.
“The issues that we are discussing in connection with the Ukrainian settlement are quite complex and they require a lot of additional efforts,” Peskov said in a conference call with reporters. “We are continuing our contacts with the American side.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to meet Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi later on Tuesday, Peskov said, calling Wang Yi “a good old friend, whose role in the development of Russian-Chinese relations is difficult to overestimate.”
