Ashanti: "No, it’s it’s been an amazing journey. You know, just to see what’s meant to be will be. And a lot of just love and positive energy. You know, he came back for us, so, you know, we’re happy."
Nelly: "Yeah, same way. You know what I mean? Everything happens for a reason. You feel like that? And like you said, what it’s going to be is going to be so. I think it was for us, we knew something was up. You know, what I’m saying? So, we played it out and I’m happy that we did. And you know, this is my baby. So, we workin’ that."

"Oh, it was bittersweet. It was bittersweet. I think it was bitter, obviously, knowing that we don’t know how long it’s going to take for us to rebuild. And I keep reminding everybody match that energy that you had the first week that everything was happening. It’s easy to forget. It’s easy to think that people have moved on. I always say it’s it’s not a trend to to be kind. It’s a practice and it’s a choice. And so the sweetness came from seeing everybody come together and mobilize, like immediately. And continuing the work I think is really important to me and to the community."

"We’re kind of following up on already been doing and yeah, just excited about what I’m doing. I’ve got a great album, I think, one of my best records, really. (Reporter: "And it about this album that you feel makes it that best album?")
"Well, it’s talking about my whole life, the past, the future, today. You know, it’s kind of talking about all of it. And that’s been fun looking, looking back, talking about myself today is exciting."

"Addiction is a very personal thing for me. You know, I’ve struggled with addiction for well over 20 years. Fortunately for me, I’m coming up on four years sober. But it’s a daily process. You know, progress, not perfection. He was an absolute light. So talented, so sweet, so genuine. And I love how the show shows him that way. And if this is one of the last things you see, it’s a great, great way to remember him. It’s just so beautifully done. And, you know, hopefully we honor him and his family for dedicating the show to him. So, you know, this is one of those things that, again, it’s just tragic. But hopefully people will remember him for the person that he was, so that’s how I do."
